Policies and Procedures for the Protection of Children

Implementors

The Review Board is a confidential consultative body of nine (9) persons that advises the Archbishop in the assessment of complaints of child abuse by a cleric and in his determination of the suitability of an accused cleric for ministry. (details - members)

The Office for Pastoral Support and Outreach is a lay professional program of the Archdiocese that offers pastoral support, outreach, and referrals for professional assistance to persons who report having been sexually abused as children by clergy, archdiocesan personnel, or volunteers. The Office will also extend appropriate support to family members of such persons and to archdiocesan parishes, schools, and other institutions affected by a complaint of child abuse. (Personnel)

The Office for Child Advocacy, Implementation and Oversight will oversee the implementation of the safe environment programs instituted by the Archdiocese. The Office is also responsible for assessing the implementation of these Policies and Procedures and reporting the results to the Archbishop.(Personnel)
