The Archdiocesan Archives will be moving to Braintree, Massachusetts in 2008.
During 2008 the Archdiocesan Archives will be closed to researchers.
Please be advised of the following:
Genealogy/ Family History
- As of September 3, 2007, the Archives will no longer accept written and/or telephone request for genealogy/ family history.
- All letters post-marked by September 3, 2007 will be answered (letters will be answered by December 2007).
- Letters post-marked after September 3, 2007 will be returned
- Requests for genealogy/ family history can be submitted to the Archives again in 2009.
- Appointments to the Archives can still be made through December 2007 as space and time permits. APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ADMITTANCE. (Appointments: Tuesdays & Thursdays 10-4).
Please call to schedule an appointment.
Historians/ Scholars
- The Archives will continue to assist historical researchers until the end of December 2007.
- Contact the Archives and ask to speak directly with an Archivist.
Archdiocesan Administration
- The Archives will make every effort to continue providing service to Archdiocesan Administrative Staff, Parishes, and individuals needing records for official religious and official civil reasons during the closure (i.e. Baptismal records required for purposes of Marriage or annulment, etc.).
